Our Region

Our region offers a beautiful variety of natural geographical features. These extend from golden sandy beaches along Moreton Bay on the ocean side of Bribie Island and at Redcliffe, through to wetland areas along the coastline and river estuaries of the Caboolture and South Pine Rivers, then to the ranges. These include D'Aguilar, Conondale and Blackall Ranges. On these ranges there are both native and plantation forests and rolling agricultural land that supports beef, dairy, goats, exotic animals such as alpacas, and a range of fruit and vegetables farms. Most notably are pineapples and strawberries.

The region experiences a mild sub tropical climate and is well supplied with water. There are reservoirs at Somerset Dam, Lake Kurwongbah and Samsonvale Dam. The area is drained by three rivers - Caboolture and North and South Pine Rivers. There are also numerous small creeks, some of which are seasonal.

Due to the ecological and geographical diversity, housing and lifestyle choices are varied. They include expansive rural properties, country town living, modern urban housing close to schools, shops, transport, community and leisure facilities, beach-front living, flats, units and canal-side living at Bribie Island and Redcliffe. The area also has a variety of quality Retirement living options including fully serviced Retirement Villages, retirement units and low cost mobile units.

The broad spectrum of natural environments, cultural heritage and community facilities provide the opportunity for participating in wonderful leisure activities that can be enjoyed in the mild climate. Lifestyle is further enhanced by high quality sporting facilities, cultural facilities, public and private hospitals and many excellent schools.

With a mild sub-tropical climate, beautiful scenery, diverse lifestyle choices and close proximity to Brisbane the Caboolture Region is an excellent place to live, work and play. There is a wide range of housing choices, public and private schools, tertiary facilities of TAFE and Queensland University of Technology, public and private hospital and medical facilities and sport and leisure centres. The road and rail facilities also mean access to further attractions at the Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay and Brisbane City.
